Married to the best
So … it’s my husband’s 43rd birthday tomorrow and I have quite a few photos from our recent trip to Pennsylvania and NY state. You see where I am going with this? He is in so many of these and they show how awesome he is. I thought this would be a good time to blog them and share how much we love him. Mike is the best husband and father I could ever ask for. He is hands on, fun and loving. He truly completes me and makes me better. We are so thankful for all that he does for us and how hard he works. Mike you bring us joy and are loved immensely. Thank you for being born!
Our trip to Mike’s hometown took us down many turns on memory lane and the boys enjoyed hearing the stories. We started off our journey in the truck and the drive is LONG. LONGGGGGGGGGGGGG … like 12 hours long. Luckily, we stopped in West Virginia for the night on the way up. I do have to say we have good car riding children and for that I am thankful. Several years back we started renting a rustic cabin in Allegheny State Park so that it was easier for his family and friends to stop in and visit when they could. It also gives us an opportunity to hang with Mike’s sister and brother in law since they now rent a cabin as well. This place is absolutely beautiful with it’s pristine lakes and trails. There is so much we still haven’t explored after several years of visiting.
One thing we had to do on this trip though was go to Gilbert Resevoir so we could see it drained. This is where Mike made a lot of childhood memories and he enjoyed seeing it again, especially when you could now see the bottom. Pretty cool we got to experience that before they fill it back up. The boys enjoyed riding their bikes until it got too muddy to continue and Andy had a full on fit because of mud on his shoe. This all made for a lot of good photo opportunities though. Especially when we found some construction equipment to play on. Oh and how could you pass up and old oil rig for a photo when you can park your Ford truck next too it. Right Mike? Haha.
That day was fairly rainy and cool but the next day was beautiful. A great day for some fishing. The boys gave up pretty quickly but at least they got to drop a line. It was a good trip with lots of memories made. We love you honey. Happy birthday!
