Hey friendly followers! You may know by now that I am a Hickory, NC Child Photographer. I also serve all of the foothills of Western, NC as well as the mountain counties as I am situated in the middle of the area. You probably also recognize these boys as my own. I wish I could say I photograph them as much as I should and want to. I don’t take that time often enough. Plus, it is HARD to photograph your own kids.

During this pandemic where we have had more time at home, I was determined to photograph everyone. In the past I have tried to take each boy out around their birthday and document them as they are. Well, I was behind on everyone so off we went. I tried to keep it simple and just walk to a spot near our property line so that there was as little push back as possible. You feel me moms? They were all super cooperative and I was grateful. Then, the dogs came. That created chaos. P.S. we have another dog but he was not photographed because he is elusive like a cat.

Speaking of cats, herding 3 boys is like herding cats. Working with them one on one was cool until another kid would distract him and then they were off. Then, the 3 of them together was a lot of shoving and craziness. I know how you all feel going into sessions. I promise I do always try to make it easy, positive, upbeat and laid back. Plus, I do not know why but it is so much easier to have command when it is not your own children. I honestly love all that personality to come through anyway. So here you go … the Hrin boys during the 2020 pandemic. John 12, Levi 10, Andy 6 years old!
