Meet Salem, he was 6 weeks old when I photographed him alongside his older brother and parents at their beautiful home in Lenoir, NC. I just love lifestyle photography and was so glad to hear from Salem’s Mom after his birth. I think it is so special to go into a family’s home and capture them just as they are. It makes those memories so much more tangible to me. Plus, it’s so easy for parents and kiddos alike. Being relaxed and where you are comfortable goes a long way when you are taking care of a new life. There is nothing like those first weeks that you have your baby home from the hospital whether it be for the first time as a Mom or as a seasoned pro. It’s always and honor to capture new life and document little ones.
I have photographed this family a few times before when their oldest, Evan was just 6 weeks old and again at one year. You can see those here and here. It was great to see them, catch up a bit and meet their newest addition to their family. Evan was so sweet snuggling Salem and gave me some cute grins for a few of him alone too. He is proud to be a big brother you can tell and while I am sure Mom and Dad have had less sleep than usual, they seem to be doing parenthood with two well and easily.
We recreated one of Mom’s favorite shots of Evan sleeping in the basket in their entryway. Now she can compare them side by side, haha. I do think they favored each other as babies quite a bit. Time will tell if that continues as they grow and show their brotherly love. Congratulations and welcome to the love of life with boys. They are awesomely amazing and such a blessing!!!
