Chetola Wedding Sky Retreat Welcome

Jenny and Eric were wed this past Fall at Chetola Resort in Blowing Rock, NC. It was absolutely exquisite. Everything from the beautiful and abundant florals by April Flowers to Jenny’s gorgeous dress to the romantic candle lit reception decor. All of it came together for such an elegant look.

Jenny and Eric came in from Miami for their destination wedding here in the NC mountains at the peak of leaf season. It’s such an awesome time to be here and they had perfect weather for the weekend. I met their large Cuban family at their welcome dinner on Friday. It was so much fun to photograph and I am so glad that I got to meet Jenny and Eric the day before the wedding as well as all of their guests. Side note … Jenny is a twin so it was good to meet her sister as well beforehand! I love intimate weddings and elopements and this one was right up there with the best of them.

Everyone seemed to have so much fun at the welcome dinner. They totally did it up NC style with excellent BBQ and amazing mountain views at The Sky Retreat. This new venue is stunning. I love how it is rustic on the outside and completely posh on the inside. As Jenny said, “It’s all NC on the outside and Miami on the inside.” I think that is a pretty accurate description. When I arrived there were still a few hang gliders taking off into the valley below just before sunset. Jenny, Eric and their entire party travelled in style on the trolley from Chetola to party the night away.

Fast forward to the next day … wedding day! Jenny’s dress is so beautiful as is she. Plus those Christian Dior shoes and Tiffany rings ya’ll! Everyone was so much fun and welcoming. I enjoyed grabbing some quick getting ready shots involving the kids and then it was ceremony time. I can’t express how pretty the gazebo overlooking the pond at Chetola looked with draping and so many florals in beautiful tones. Everything went perfectly thanks to Melissa with Day of Your Dreams event planning and High Country Ministers who officiated. It’s so special to be involved in these smaller ceremonies and there is always so much love felt. Jenny and Eric shared a special sand ceremony and involved the children in that which was sweet. They are all so good looking!

The food was amazing thanks to Chetola and their wedding cake by Hallmark Cakes was delicious! The reception party was rocking thanks to Soto’s Entertainment. This is a big, beautiful and FUN family so I’d expect nothing less. Ya’ll were so fun and and I enjoyed capturing your memories. All the best for an amazing life together! I am glad I got to witness your union and your love for each other!
