Hickory, NC Child Photographer …
This is John Michael, he’s my 8 year old. If you have followed my blog for any length of time, you know that it is a tradition for me to take and blog each of my boys’ pictures for their birthdays. John turned 8 in December and we celebrated with his cousins coming for a sleepover and day outing. However, with snow and Christmas and cold and life, I did not actually photograph him until February. Even that day it was still extremely cold and I had the other boys in tow so they just gave me a bit of time. Love what I got and am glad to finally get these up on the blog!
We went over to the ruritan building near John’s school to take these for a little something different but still convenient to home. All 3 boys were running around with sticks, chasing ducks, almost falling in the lake. I had a lot of eyes and ears all over the place while also trying to bring out some of John’s personality. Craziness … such is life with these 3 and I love it.
At 8 years old, John loves legos, pokemon, minecraft and his Nintendo ds. He still also loves to play construction and the boys have every toy piece of equipment imaginable. He also likes soccer, riding his bike and playing outside. He is right in the thick of permanent mixed with baby teeth and all the quirky that entails. This age is so bittersweet. I can already see parts of his child like tendencies slipping away. I’m proud to watch him grow though and see him learn and develop. He loves reading and is quite good at math as well. Most of all, he’s happy and cooperative. He’s a good big brother to Andy and Levi although he and Levi quarrel. They are still best friends and loving toward each other.
As a Mom right now I love it when he climbs into bed for snuggles and tells me about every single pokemon in his guide book, even though I don’t understand. He can be a quiet boy but once he is comfortable he shows his personality which isn’t really shy, just reserved. I know a thing or two about that :). He loves to spend time with his Dad with working on the building and even yard work and is actually becoming quite helpful in getting some projects done! We love you Dinks and love being your parents! We are thankful for you every day.
